Great neighborhood bar
PROS:
1) Dance floor
2) Nice front bar
3) Great neighborhood bar
4) Lesbian night Wednesdays
5) Karoke

CONS:
1) None

The title says it all.
Unsafe bar
Went to this bar on Saturday evening (9/22/12) and harassed twice by a black guy and when I went to security the individual harassed me in front of security (supposedly this guy knows the owner) and security ignored my complaint refused to escort this individual from the premises. I felt unsafe in the bar and left. The other bars on church street are far superior to this bar and didn't feel threatened at any of the other bars. Sad to say I would not frequent this bar again and recommend those who do to not confront security if they run into this situation. Surprised an owner would allow this type of behavior within his bar.
prozac-muzak and retro
Retro Sundays are pretty good, however the front of the bar is music to suicide by (the "lounge") and in the back is the retro dj/dance floor on Sundays. Dress light even in winter, it heats up fast back there. No refuge in front unless you want to dig your eyes out with a spoon because of the "live" music.
Retro Sundays
The best night at Zippers is Sundays for the Retro music of the 70's, 80's. Avoid on long weekends as the line up is too long and the place gets way too packed.
