This place has closed.

As of 6 April 2019, Cafe California has closed. The sign on the window says “The Cherie Bistro” is coming soon.

Among my favorite

Whenever I think of going to Church for lunch or dinner my first thought turns to Cafe California... remember it even before it was Papagallo's ... great place..

From almost 20 years ago

True, it was a long time ago but the single worst dining experience I have ever had was in this restaurant and the food, as I remember, was quite good. Our waiter was either in a bad mood, took a dislike to us or as I believe simply should not have been in a position where he had any dealings with the public. It's unfortunate but because of that glaring mistake in hiring I can't bring myself to risk it here.

New Management don't know what they are doing.!

Very bad right from the start. To start with no price on the Menu.? I ordered a simple dinner and it took them about 20 min to bring my food. Then they forgot to bring the rest of my dinner and that took almost another 15 min and that was cold. Only one waiter and one of the New owners. Place was not full so why the long wait to get food. When I finished by the time I received the bill and to pay that took them another 17 min. That's so Daft. Also I heard from others that since the New management took over the place is not great. Now I know why. It's a shame about that place. I am a Chef myself and it should not take that long to serve a meal to a customer.

Good Food Good Time

I loved this place. The food was very good, the service prompt and friendly, and the decor was stylish without being over bearing.
