Black Eagle

Great place!

If you have been to any type of Eagle in the world then you already know this is a blue jeans, leather, mans bar. Awesome roof top patio to relax and have drinks. Multi leveled and lots of bars for service. Lots of friendly locals. Only gripe is sometimes there is a line to go upstairs, otherwise my preferred bar of Toronto.

Great leather/fetish venue, particularly for first-timers

Can be as social or as sleazy as you want to make it. Yes, there's the backroom, but there's also plenty of space to chill out and socialise (though it's not as friendly as Woody's or Crews), a roomy rooftop patio and some great theme nights. Seeing a bunch of human pups leaning out the window howling at passers by on Church Street was its own special brand of awesome. Definitely drop by.

worst bear/leather bar i've ever been to

went to the bear party at the black eagle tonight. easily the worst bear party in terms of the management of the bar i've ever been to. one had to stand in line to go upstairs to the bar, stand in line to go have a smoke, stand in line to pretty much breathe and the different levels were never even really full...plus "regulars" would be let through in front of everyone else...that's the kind of behavior i expect at a fashion victim/twink/etc. club, but not a bear place....i live in barcelona and i don't know of any bear place in europe that has such a policy....completely ridiciculous...and a shame too, coz the toronto bears looked pretty f*ing hot, but management and bouncer behavior was a complete 100% turn-off
