On Monday, June 22 at 9:00 PM, LGBTQ communities are invited to congregate at George Hislop Park for what will be a celebratory and political march. In 2012, Night March was born with the intention of celebrating and demonstrating our rights and diverse voices. As well, given the violence experienced by our communities – often at night - marching at night is all the more appropriate.
In a year where legislation (Bill C-51) is being passed into law to limit our rights to demonstrate, the need to march and exercise our rights is all the more important.
We are starting at George Hislop Park and from there we will take to the streets in a festive and political procession that is sure to liven up downtown Toronto!
Calling all marshals! If you are interested in marshaling, please add your name to the Marshals Post on the event page or attend the Marshals Training - date TBA. First time marshals are more than welcome!
So come one, come all and join us on Monday, June 22 at 9:00 PM at George Hislop Park. From there, we will march along a super-secret-to-be-revealed-night-of route. So bring your signs, bring your noisemakers, bring your glow-y stuff, bring your flashiest outfit and most importantly, bring yourself. See you then!
