Alumnae Theatre Company proudly presents the 26th annual New Ideas Festival, running March 12 - 30, 2014 in Alumnae Theatre's Studio space.
96 writers from all over Canada and beyond (U.S. and UK) submitted original short plays which have never before been produced, making every play in the Festival a world premiere! From this, 15 scripts were selected. New Ideas features a different lineup each week, plus Talkback sessions that encourage audiences to provide immediate feedback to writers and directors.
Among the characters you'll meet are a pioneering cancer doctor ("Radical"), Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn ("Royal Season"), an immigrant worker ("Better Angels") and dystopian literary nerds ("The Shimmering Odessa Building or Whatever"). Plays range in length from 10 - 60 minutes. Be the first-ever audience for these world premieres!
