Hanlan's Point

(33 Ratings)
Gay nude beach off the beaten path
Take the Hanlan's Point ferry out of Toronto at the foot of Bay Street at Queen's Quay, then walk about 15 minutes up the paved path. This clothing-optional gem can then be reached by taking one of the wooden paths through the brush to the coast.

Hanlan and history

I lovely ferry ride on summer day to a quiet spot that I have enjoyed for years. And yes, it's completely legal to be nude.

Its not a Gay nude beach !!

Ok so I went here on a warm Sunday afternoon and I clearly saw the gay area with men sprawled all over blankets next to each other....but very few were nude !! What a huge dissapointment. The hetersexual part of the beach was mostly nude. So I guess if you are bisexual or into girls there is plenty of eye candy. I really had to walk around alot to find a few young gay men who were naked. I went back on Monday, which was a legal holiday and found the same results. I just don't understand it !! Why don't the young gay guys take it off ??? It's legal !!

Lots of gawkers these days

This beach has always attracted nude sunbathers, even before it was legally sanctioned as an official clothing optional beach. The city decided to try it out as a nude beach for one summer as a test case and once they realized how much more money they were making on the ferry fees they decided to keep it. Once it was legal it attracted nudists almost exclusively but over the years it has changed drastically. Now over 50% of the people aren't nude and are just there to gawk at those who are. The younger guys don't strip down completely. The beach gets really crowded and those who are clothed are taking up space when they could go to any number of beaches in the city - hello gawkers.

Wonderful place to enjoy the sun in the nude...

with a terrific view of your fellow sunbathers. Only setback - hardly any shade for when the sun is hottes. So sunscreen is indispensable... But what awonderful "day on the beach"!!!
