it feels like only yesterday that Mathew Rushfeldt approached me to start a party at Joy Bistro on Queen East. at the time bear parties were popping up everywhere and I wanted to do something that would represent a different demographic of the community. a demographic that I felt was under represented in the gay scene but was just as vital and hot as the bear, twink, circuit & hipster queers that other party promoters catered to. I also was a bit of a daddy chaser myself so I thought why not play the kinda music I love to a crowd of men I love and see if we can get like minded guys out. it worked. May 13, 2011 we launched the first DND in the small bar of Joy Bistro and we were SLAMMED! so slammed that we had to move the party to the large room above for the parties that followed. we eventually out grew Joy and our host Mathew moved away so I brought in David Picard to fill in on hosting DND at various venues in the city until we landed at our current home Wayla Bar.
It's been an amazing 5 years and I couldn't have done it without the help of these guys: my warm up dj & poster designer Michael Boyuk, Jason Bone the man behind the amazing comic book daddy artwork. Brian Duval and all the bar staff past & present of Wayla Bar! thank you all for helping me create this party on a monthly basis!
lastly, I wanna thank everybody that's come out and partied with us over these last 5 years. you've made our Ginger nights, Daddy Care fundraisers, Disco House Editions & our dj 3 Ways the best house parties in the East end... dare I say in Toronto?
